A WOMAN AND HER GRANDDAUGHTER DEAD AFTER SHOTS WERE FIRED INSIDE THEIR APARTMENT IN MONTREAL

Montreal police are investigating after a 73-year-old woman and her 22-year-old granddaughter was shot to death early Thursday in an apartment in Montreal's Pointe-St-Charles district.

Montreal police say 911 calls were made early at 2:40 a.m. on Thursday to report gunshots in the Pointe-Saint-Charles area.

The women were both found inside the apartment. The grandmother was pronounced dead on the scene, and the 22-year-old granddaughter was rushed to the hospital in critical condition with gunshot injuries, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

A security perimeter was established, and for now, it remains unclear if a third party was involved in the shooting.


No arrests have been made. More details will follow.
