FRANÇOIS LEGAULT AND JUSTIN TRUDEAU MET TODAY IN MONTREAL TO DISCUSS IMPORTANT CAQ ISSUES

BY MICHAEL HURLEY
The main issues the premier and prime minister discussed included:
The French language.
Migrants are entering Canada via Roxham Road.
Federal aid with health costs.
Infrastructure spending.
More collaboration on the environment.

With the French language, the CAQ is primarily concerned with the decline of French in Montreal. The island is now 48% francophone, a number that is concerning to the Quebec government.

Legault is also concerned about the number of migrants entering the country via Rocham Road. According to his instagram post, 36 000 people entered through Rocham Road and Quebec receives the bulk of them while representing only 22% of the population.

In his post, the Premier did not go into details about their discussion on health transfers; however, he did claim he was more confident on the matter.

They also talked about sharing the increasing infrastructure costs of certain projects due to inflation. Finally they agreed to more collaboration between the province and the federal government on environmental issues.
