SPVM REPORTS OVER 10% DROP IN ARMED VIOLENCE FOR 2022

Montreal police have reported that total crimes involving firearms have decreased by 11% in 2022, going from 196 to 175.

Compared to the same period in 2021, the amount of attempted homicides using firearms have dropped from 50 to 43, a 14% decrease, while the amount of firearm discharges went from 64 to 116. However, homicides involving firearms in Montreal have increased from 12 to 16 compared to 2021's January to November period.
