TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED AT CÉGEP SAINT-JEAN-SUR-RICHELIEU: STUDENTS AND STAFF FORCED TO BARRICADE THEMSELVES

This Friday morning, a call was made to the police concerning a suspicious individual inside the Cégep Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.

Students and staff members were then instructed to confine themselves to a room. In the alert sent to them, we could read:






The police were then deployed to the scene and arrested two people.

First, an elderly man in his twenties wearing a thick jacket and a large backpack was apprehended in a parking lot outside the establishment.

Then, a young woman who was also carrying a backpack was also arrested.

At the time of writing these lines, confinement is still in progress at the Cégep and the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is on site.
